Mechanical & Electrical Installation
At NWP we fully assess site location & condition along with the welfare & facilities, in accordance with the main contractors’ terms & conditions of employment. Our mechanical & electrical installations are carried out to the highest standard.
All electrical installations shall comply with the latest addition & amendments of the Institution of electrical engineers (IEE) regulations, codes of practices, electrical supply, local authority regulation & requirements & the chartered institute of building services engineers (CIBSE) guidelines applicable to NWP’s works.
We pride ourselves on having experienced mechanical & electrical installers, as well as also employing young apprentices eager to learn & develop. Our team of electricians, plumbers, welders, mechanical fitters, duct fitters & HVAC & refrigerant engineers have worked on many different design & build projects nationwide. All site operatives are affiliated with construction skill certification scheme (CSCS). We also encourage our staff to work in a safe, effective & professional manner. The majority of our site operatives including all of our site supervisors are enrolled on the site supervisor safety training scheme (SSSTS). All our installations are fully tested & commissioned before project hand over.
Lighting technology has progressed very quickly in a relatively short amount of time. Running & maintenance cost are now considerably lower than they were in the late 90’s and 00’s. NWP use a number of leading calculation packages when designing feature, decorative & external lighting. Depending on the building use & client’s requirement we can produce simple 2D lux level diagram which will identity dark spots prior to site installation. We also offer full 3D rendered visualisation which as well as identifying the potential dark area, can also identify bright spots & spots where glare could become problematic. Identifying these areas during the design stage will save costs on purchasing additional fittings if the lux level is not met.
All of our lighting designs fall within current regulations, and follow the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) & the Society of Light & Lighting (SLL) lighting guides. We can produce 3D visualisation lighting calculation straight from 2D plan drawings, including external areas & car park calculations. We use leading calculation software which is backed by the majority of light fitting manufacturers meaning a more realistic & accurate result is provided.
We can also perform calculations for external lighting projects. We are able to perform external calculation and on-site installation to satisfy BRE Environmental Assessment Method Excellence (BREEAM), the highest BREEAM Qualification. NWP also offer full emergency lighting designs in line with BS5266 & CIBSE lighting guide 12.
Fire Alarm & Security
Fire alarm & security are two of the most important aspects of any mechanical & electrical project. Ensuring the safety of yourself, other building occupants as well as the property itself is paramount when designing a new project. There are many different fire alarm systems available, each offering a wide range of coverage. The type & size of system all depends on the end usage of the building. All systems designed by NWP comply with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) guidelines & health and safety regulations. As well as an extensive range of fire alarm systems NWP also offer a security design package. We offer a range of coverage from a simple passive infrared (PIR) detector. To full CCTV, door contactors & fob door reader. Our design team will design the most appropriate coverage for your needs, along with offering you our knowledge & experience we also ensure your peace of mind. Using leading fire alarm & security alarm manufacturers means NWP can offer a design & installation service of the highest quality with equipment that will last.
Data & Telecommunications
Our service is ideally suited to execute the majority of telecommunications & data installations as well as offering maintenance for all equipment.
Data installation is an increasingly important aspect of building services design. Although not a great deal of design is required, a significant amount of co-ordination is required to ensure all equipment, containment tray & baskets are fixed correctly and safely & are not interfering with any other electrical or mechanical systems present on the project.
NWP employ specialist data & telecommunication installers & will co-ordinate all installations to give you the most practical coverage & cost saving possible. NWP also offer care link communication system for use within extra care facilities.
